Wowzers. It’s Day 8 of reducing from 40mg of omeprazole to 20mg.
The night before I had some coughing and I knew my proton pumps were coming back to life.
But last night they were full of rage. My esophagus was on fire. And there was no stopping them. Sitting upright, Tums, and all that.
Today I had to take a step backwards and went back on 40mg. Maybe I will alternate each day between 40 and 20 instead of just 20. It was going so well I wasn’t expecting this on the eighth day. If it happens again tonight, I’ll take a 40 again tomorrow, and then start alternating. I’ve had to start a spreadsheet to track the transition since I can see it’s not going to be clean.
And now I’m realizing that this is going to take more than a month.
It’s disappointing, but… journeys of a thousand steps are my jam.
