Today was a good day to work on getting myself out there and strengthinging my network:
- Went to the local coffee shop first thing in the morning. Met with another dog owner that’s a regular there. And a couple other folks. Took a pic a golden hour pic of the wood post of the deck.
- Went to a guitar festival hosted by a local luthier. And I bumped into the president of the company for my first job. It’s a job I’m not proud of. I was suffering from PTSD those years and didn’t handle it well. I got to share that with him. It felt good, kind of like AA’s making amends type of thing. We got to catch up on what we are up to these days.
- Book club meeting. It was my second time meeting this book club. I didn’t really like the book, but it was fun meeting new people and sharing a passion with them. Look forward to doing it again next month.
- Saw a DJ setting up at a club. Someone I recognized from my walk last week. I talked with him because he was wearing an MTV T-shirt. He remembered me and asked about my open mic performances.
- On a walk I met two neighbors I’ve never talked to. One has two kids and two dogs, loves to garden. The other is a competitive cyclist. I tried to share common interests with them.
At then end of the day, I don’t feel like I did all that much. But when I look at it written down, it sure is a heck of a lot more than what my typical day used to look like.
