I’m an introvert at heart. But clearly the best way to increase my luck is going to be increasing my extroversion. Not an easy ask. So like I did in Luck Journal 1, and will continue to do, I sat on the patio today at my local coffee shop and greeted everyone coming in. I got to practice remembering peoples’ names that I have met previously. As well, I had a delightful conversation with a Canadian who is travelling across the US coast to coast in an Airstream trailer. I apologized for our “current situation”, and he said he’s been hearing that a lot. He mentioned that I have the relaxed attitude of someone on the west coast.
Unfortunately I can’t sit inside to strike up conversations with people because I have a dog. But on the plus side, she gets a lot of attention which helps a lot in my goal to meet as many people as possible.
UPDATE: Went to a Rotary Club meeting today. I’m new there so again I got to practice being more extroverted. We had a speaker come from the local food bank. He mentioned that they do need volunteers each weekend for food distribution. I thought about considering it. Then someone asked if teenagers can volunteer and he said absolutely. Boom! That’s an chance opportunity for my son which I never would have thought of. Going to sign us both up to volunteer there. Success! Feeling more lucky already.
