When I search online for good practice pads, it’s interesting to me how many there are. And there are lots of videos that go through dozens and dozens of pads. But most are just a variation of the rubber mat or the cheapie 8 inch plastic one. It took me a long time to find out that Sabian makes a practice pad using a real drum head and a snare hoop. And it sits right on top of your snare. What better way is there to practice drumming than to sit on the throne of a real kit? It makes a lot more sense to practice this way and I cant figure out why it isn’t more common when searching for pads. I can understand that it costs more than the mass produced cheap stuff, but when searching for “good” or “best” practice pads, this one should come up first.
Or even for “low volume drum” searches. You’ll get lots of results for mesh heads and rubber mutes. But with the Quiet Tone, you get a low volume snare sound. It really is the best practice pad in most cases.
The only reasons to get anything else would be wanting a near zero volume or more portable to carry with you.
