Found the Perfect Use for an Ableton Move

I’ve had the Ableton Move ever since it came out a year ago. And frankly, I never used it. I really only played with it for a few days. Even though I’m happy to have it and I thought it was super cool, I never get around to doing anything with it at all.

But then a video came across my feed of a guy jamming to a very simple synth backing track, and it hit me, that is the PERFECT use for the Move! I’m getting bored practicing drums to just a metronome, and for whatever reason, playing to my favorite songs doesn’t appeal to me.

So here’s my first pass at creating a simple backing track, and practice improving to it. I did not edit this or try to fix anything. This is just me practicing for six minutes. Mistakes and all…

What a joy it was to make this. It was so easy to create the track Move, and so easy to upload to Ableton Live.

And my favorite part is, that because I absolutely hate working on a computer, I can carry this little device around and whenever I have a free moment or two, I can whip up some backing tracks. I’m imagining myself going for a bike ride to blow some steam, stopping at a park and just vibing with it. Then uploading the tracks and doing more improv practice sessions.

I’m pumped.
