I’m late to the game on using AI, probably because it worries me. A lot. Not AI itself, but how bad actors may use it. Such as propaganda or hacking, and of course, people losing their jobs. I don’t have an optimistic view of the future around it, unfortunately.
But anyways…
I have been seeing AI images online for quite some time. Today I decided to generate one myself and see what I get. I asked Chat GPT for an image of a crazy guy about to eat a cupcake. And wow, that’s kinda… wild. And stupid simple.
One of my many harebrained ideas I’ve always had is to produce a web comic. However, even as an amateur sketcher, the thought of drawing regularly is daunting. So I thought, hey, what if I get AI to do the drawing and I’ll just come up with the thought-bubble punchlines? So I asked for a 2d image in a cartoonish style. And clearly, producing a web comic is well within anyone’s reach.
Will I even do it then since it’s so simple? It’s hard to say. I know I long ago gave up photography as a hobby when digital cameras made it so everyone is a photographer…
